Introduction

I have lived in Sonoma County for six years. Prior to moving to California I lived in Salt Lake City, Utah. I moved to Sebastopol after I married my husband Michael. We both love Sebastopol and find it to be the right home for us. Sonoma County has a rich culture with many outdoor activities, music festivals, and other opportunities to get to know your community.

I was in the mortgage industry for ten years. After the industry dissolved I knew I wanted to go back to college and further my education. The last three years I have been employed as the Operations Manager at a company that manufacturers alcoholic cider. I have been blessed with continuous employment during these hard economic times.

I am still considering what degree I want to pursue, but I am interested in the behavioral sciences. I am on my fifth semester at the JC and have enjoyed taking all my class online. The flexibility allows me to work around my full time job. I am the type of person who insists on getting my assignments done early, although at times I am unable to because of my employment. I believe this course will help me improve my writing skills.

I look forward to interacting with each of you this semester.

Cheers!

Sarah

  1. Sarah,

I agree with you about Sonoma County, we are lucky to have such a beautiful place. Salt Lake City? I've been there only once in my life. I wonder if it has changed much.

I am also working full time, and online classes are perfect. But just be careful and don't fall behind, because it is easy to do. Well, I hope that I will get to know you better as the semester goes on.

  2. Hi Sarah,
I like Sonoma County as well the scenery is beyond gorgeous. I have not been to any of the festivals but hearing you talk about how great they are makes me want to go and see for myself. My mother and i would probably enjoy it.

This is my first online class so i am going to see how it goes and i am super nervous about doing this. I hope i can stay on track and not fall behind. Why did you choose behavioral sciences? what interests you about it?

  3. Hi Sarah,

Having a job in this economy is definitely a blessing! I'm relatively new to this area, so I'm still learning about all that Sonoma county has to offer.

I've only driven through Sebastopol on my way to Bodega, but it seems like a nice community.

I'm looking forward to working with you this semester.

    Take care,
    Lauren

  4. Sarah,
I agree with you on how beautiful Sonoma County is. My fiance and I want to end up living in West County somewhere. Possibly Monte Rio. I have also found great success in online classes. I did very poorly in the traditional classroom setting, but for the last two semesters have been doing very good in the online classes. I think the online format allows for some flexibility, which is what I need. I have 3 children and work 3 days a week. The online format gives me the flexibility to do my schoolwork where ever I want. If I am on a break at work, I can slip in some homework. If my kids are sleeping, I can slip in some homework. I was finding that with the on campus classes I was having a hard time making it to classes of unforseen events like my children being sick. Having classes online means that even if my kids get sick and cannot go to their daycare, I can still accomplish my homework.
